Erzähl uns von dir, wer bist du und woher kommst du?

I am a UK-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who draws inspiration from pop and rock music. My songs show my love for the 1960s until the early 2000s. I try to update traditional sounds to stay fresh and up-to-date. My passion is writing and playing music that combines prominent guitar-driven pop and rock elements. I grew up in the Southern part of the Netherlands and moved to Manchester to pursue music because the music scene there is legendary.

Wie wurde deine Leidenschaft für Musik geboren? Wer sind deine Vorbilder?

My passion for music was born after seeing Paul McCartney in 2003 in Antwerp. During the fireworks that went up during his song Live and Let Die, I suddenly knew. I wanted to play guitar and perform for an audience. The classic sounds from British and American bands such as Oasis, Beatles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Springsteen, Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy to name just a few have influenced my music.

Welche Art von Musik machst du?

Picking one genre is hard. For instance: My first single „Alcohol“ has an edgy feel with guitar solos (moaning guitars) in the intro and outro. The lyrics are quite dark and introspective. As the percussion kicks even more energy is added to the track. Listeners have named genes like rock and screamo. My next single „Love Lies Cold“ has definitely a more 1980’s pop/rock feel to it. Someone called it a combo of Bon Jovi and the Cult. One element however does remain the same in my songs. They are guitar-driven.

Was ist der wichtigste Song für dich? Welche Botschaft willst du den Zuhörern vermitteln?

There are so many excellent songs and albums available. It’s hard to choose one favorite. At this moment I’d say my favorite albums are: Morning Glory (Oasis), Live Rust (Neil Young), Back In Black (AC/DC), Born To Run (Bruce Springsteen) and Pronounced ‚Lĕh-’nérd ‚Skin-’nérd (Lynyrd Skynyrd)

Warum sollte ein Hörer, der dich nicht kennt, deine Musik hören?

I make music with the goal to take listeners on a roller coaster of emotions. While some may be satisfied with listening to their favorite music on repeat, others are looking for something new with incredible vibes. I hope my music will have the power to change your mood in an instant. And leave you energized and happy!

Was sind deine zukünftigen Projekte? Wo siehst du dich in 5 Jahren?

I plan to release 4 or 5 songs this year. However, I am starting from scratch without a fanbase whatsoever. So it will take some effort to be heard and found on the streaming services. Eventually, I plan to form a band and play my music live. I really miss this aspect of musicianship.

Erzähle unseren Lesern eine lustige Episode aus deiner Karriere als Künstlerin.

We were playing a gig with my former band in a sort of bikers pub. We were part of a lineup and the acts before us were taking their time and playing incredibly loud. When it was our turn the crowd had turned drunk and rowdy. The organizers wanted to cut our act short. We wouldn’t have any of that, so instead of leaving the stage, we played a lengthy drawn-out version of Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. Afterward, we had some trouble getting our gear out safely and we were never asked back again.
