Where Independent Music Finds Its Voice

Énekes-dalszerző. A budapesti Bartók Béla Konzervatóriumban végeztem hegedű szakon. Hegedültem zenekarokban, később billentyűs hangszerekre váltottam. Egy éve készítem a saját dalaimat.

Erzähl uns von dir, wer bist du und woher kommst du?

I am from Hungary and I live there. I am a singer-songwriter and I have been in the profession for just under a year, I mean with my own music that I wrote myself. I come from a musical family; my mother was a violinist, my grandfather played in brass bands, and my uncle is a clarinetist. I am the black sheep of the family because I did not continue the classical music legacy.

Wie wurde deine Leidenschaft für Musik geboren? Wer sind deine Vorbilder?

At first, Billy Joel’s song ‚Just the Way You Are‘ touched me, and later the years I spent at the Hungarian State Opera House had a great impact on me. There, I worked on the other side of the stage as a lighting technician.

Welche Art von Musik machst du?

Everything that is retro. Joking aside, I carry on the pop and soft rock line of the 80s and 90s in today’s circumstances. I really love the synthwave sound, the drums, and the diverse keyboard instruments. Actually, I would like to translate what I have learned from classical music into my songs. I could describe my music with melodic, ascending chords.

Was ist der wichtigste Song für dich? Welche Botschaft willst du den Zuhörern vermitteln?

This is a bit of a difficult question because every song is tied to a feeling, to a part of my life. Maybe my song „Everyone can win“ is the most important because both the music and the lyrics convey hope. The song is about how anyone can be a winner in their own life if they follow their dreams. At some stations, a couple of friends get off, whose destination doesn’t match ours, and others get on, with whom we can move forward together.

Warum sollte ein Hörer, der dich nicht kennt, deine Musik hören?

If I love the melodies of the 80s and 90s, then I think there are others who love them too. My music is for them. I convey a feeling of life, just like any of my fellow musicians, and this feeling takes you back to that era.

Was sind deine zukünftigen Projekte? Wo siehst du dich in 5 Jahren?

In the future, I want to write fewer songs. I wrote 126 songs in a year, which get lost in the dense music landscape. In the future, I will write fewer songs, and I will dedicate the rest of my time to perfecting them and the related activities like music videos, promotion, and performances. The 5-year plan also includes participation in synchronization licensing programs.

Erzähle unseren Lesern eine lustige Episode aus deiner Karriere als Künstlerin.

There was a beautiful, hot summer when we played outdoors with the band. I was singing a song when I accidentally swallowed a mosquito. I started to cough, then choke, and at the same time, laugh. The other singer of the band, who was a man, saved the band from this awkward situation by singing my song an octave higher. It was like an eunuch solo, and the audience laughed too.
