Parlaci di te, chi sei e da dove vieni?

I am Yuvanshree Dhayanithi, an independent Tamil music composer and singer, also known by my artist name Yuvan Shree. I come from Tamil Nadu, India, where my deep connection with language, emotions, and storytelling naturally shaped my journey into music. My work blends contemporary sounds with soulful Tamil melodies, focusing strongly on emotion, memory, and human relationships. I made my debut with the independent Tamil song “Un Ninaivugal,” which reflects my approach to music—simple, honest, and emotionally driven. As an independent artist, I create music not just as entertainment, but as a form of expression and connection. Coming from a non-film background, my journey has been self-driven, shaped by learning, experimentation, and a strong passion for original music. I continue to explore new sounds while staying rooted in Tamil musical sensibilities.

Come è nata la tua passione per la musica? Chi sono i tuoi idoli?

My passion for music was born from emotions rather than formal training. From a young age, I was deeply moved by melodies and the way music could express feelings that words sometimes cannot. I found myself drawn to songs that carried strong emotions, memories, and stories, and that slowly pushed me toward creating music of my own. Instead of learning music in a traditional classroom setting, I learned by listening, observing, and experimenting. Music became my way of expressing thoughts, love, and experiences, especially during quiet and reflective moments. Over time, this emotional connection turned into a serious passion and a creative purpose. My idols are composers who balance melody with depth and originality. I am inspired by A.R. Rahman for his global vision and soulful compositions, Ilaiyaraaja for his timeless melodies and emotional richness, and Yuvan Shankar Raja for his modern approach and ability to connect deeply with today’s generation. Their work has influenced my understanding of how music can be both personal and universal.

Che tipo di musica fai?

I create Tamil independent music that blends emotional melodies with modern sounds. My music is rooted in storytelling, focusing on themes like love, memories, longing, and human emotions. I enjoy combining simple yet soulful compositions with contemporary arrangements so that the music feels both intimate and relatable. As a composer and singer, I aim to create songs that stay honest to the emotion rather than following trends. My debut song “Un Ninaivugal” reflects this approach, where melody takes the lead and the listener can connect personally with the feeling behind the song. Overall, my music lies somewhere between melodic, emotional, and modern Tamil independent music.

Qual è la canzone più importante per te? Quale messaggio vuoi trasmettere all'ascoltatore?

The most important song for me is “Un Ninaivugal.” It is my debut track and very close to my heart because it represents my journey as an independent artist and composer. The song was created from pure emotion and personal experience, without any commercial pressure, which makes it special for me. Through “Un Ninaivugal,” I want to convey the feeling of memories that stay with us even when people or moments are no longer part of our lives. The song reminds listeners that it’s okay to feel, to miss, and to hold on to emotions that shaped who we are. I hope the song gives comfort to anyone who has loved deeply and still carries those memories silently.

Perché un ascoltatore che non ti conosce dovrebbe ascoltare la tua musica?

A listener who doesn’t know me should listen to my music because it speaks more through emotion than identity. My songs are not about trends or popularity; they are about real feelings, memories, and silence that many people carry inside them. Even if you don’t know who I am, you may recognize yourself in the emotions my music expresses. I believe music doesn’t need an introduction when it is honest. If my song can make a listener pause, feel understood, or remember something meaningful from their own life, then the connection is already made. That is the reason I create music—to connect hearts before names.

Quali sono i tuoi progetti futuri? Dove ti vedi tra 5 anni?

My future projects focus on creating meaningful independent music that blends modern sounds with deep Tamil emotions. I want to explore different themes like love beyond boundaries, social identity, inner struggles, and hope—stories that are often felt but rarely spoken out loud. I’m also planning to collaborate with independent artists and filmmakers to create music that lives beyond just audio, through visuals and storytelling. Five years from now, I see myself as a strong independent music composer and artist with a clear identity, whose work is recognized not by fame alone but by emotional impact. I want my music to reach people across languages and cultures while staying rooted in my Tamil soul. More than success, I aim for longevity—creating music that remains relevant, honest, and close to people’s hearts.

Racconta ai nostri lettori un episodio divertente accaduto nella tua carriera di artista.

One funny episode I remember clearly happened during the early days of my music journey. I was recording a vocal take at home with full emotion, totally lost in the song, thinking it sounded perfect. After finishing, I proudly played it back—only to realize that my mic wasn’t connected at all. What got recorded instead was the ceiling fan, background traffic, and a pressure cooker whistle from the kitchen. I just sat there laughing at myself. That moment taught me an important lesson: passion is great, but always double-check your setup!
