“Oppression” is the new single by OsiX, out on Friday, July 17 via Honiro Label.
A track that transforms the tension and suffocating pressure of contemporary society into an intense and immersive sonic experience. Blending alternative pop with dark electronic influences, OsiX crafts a soundscape where energy, unease, and raw emotion coexist in perfect balance.
“Oppression” was born from the desire to give shape to the constant pressure that defines modern life. Driving drums, analog synthesizers, modular soundscapes, and distorted, manipulated vocals intertwine to create an immersive atmosphere that captures the weight of an increasingly chaotic and oppressive reality.
The result is a song with a powerful emotional impact, shifting seamlessly between aggressive sonic textures and melodic openings while blurring the boundaries between electronic music, alternative pop, and dark electro. A contemporary crossover that combines meticulous sound design with immediate emotional appeal, transforming tension into an expressive force that captivates listeners from beginning to end.
With “Oppression,” OsiX delivers a sonic manifesto that reflects the anxieties of the present without sacrificing energy. Intense and cinematic, the track invites listeners to confront their own inner struggles and the contradictions of a world that is becoming faster, more chaotic, and increasingly difficult to navigate.
«Driven by the growing sense of tension and confinement of modern times, OsiX unveils “Oppression”, a powerful blend of alternative pop and dark electro. Distorted, pitch-shifted vocals cut through pounding drums, modular soundscapes, and analog synths, creating an intense atmosphere. Dark, energetic and emotionally charged, the track balances aggression and melody, delivering a bold crossover sound tailored for electronic audiences and playlists such as Glitch, Alternative Beats and Dark Room» says OsiX.
OsiX is the new electro-pop project of Francesco Pierguidi, a key figure in Rome’s underground electronic scene. Active in the rave movement since the early 2000s, he has collaborated throughout his career with Italian techno pioneers such as Lory D and Leo Anibaldi. A passionate vinyl enthusiast and producer, he is the founder of the Trivmvirate label and currently runs Remodel, a record label dedicated exclusively to vinyl releases. Alongside his artistic career, Pierguidi is a highly respected mixing and mastering engineer and the founder of LNPS Studio in Rome, a recording facility that has become a benchmark for the Italian and international electronic, pop, and rap scenes. With OsiX, Pierguidi merges his deep roots in analog and modular techno with a bold, contemporary alternative pop aesthetic. The project makes its debut with “Oppression”, an intense and visceral track that translates the tension and suffocating atmosphere of modern times into music, blending manipulated vocals, towering modular synth textures, and hard-hitting rhythms into a dark, energetic, and deeply evocative sound.
