Sour Static is a hard rock and industrial rock project created by songwriter Drew Patterson, built around dirty guitars, machine-driven rhythms, raw vocals, massive hooks, and dark storytelling. Drawing inspiration from sleaze rock, industrial rock, gothic rock, and alternative music, Sour Static explores stories of obsession, fear, addiction, excess, abuse, and the strange. Drew writes the songs and directs the project through a hybrid creative process that integrates his real voice with generative AI technology in the production and performance process. The debut single, “Gluttony,” introduces a sound designed to be loud, uncomfortable, catchy, and unmistakably Sour Static.
