Today, we’re diving into the eclectic world of Aedos, an Italian band hailing from Catania, where melodic rock meets progressive experimentation and psychedelic vibes. Born from the creative synergy of guitarist Jósef, drummer Angel, pianist and vocalist Benny, and bassist Maurizio, Aedos takes their listeners on a journey through a soundscape inspired by the greats of 70s Italian singer-songwriters and avant-garde rock. Vertel eens iets over jezelf, wie ben je en waar kom je vandaan?

Hi, we are an Italian band. We are friends with a spontaneous desire to have fun and play together, and that’s how the idea of forming a musical band was born.

Hoe is je passie voor muziek ontstaan? Wie zijn je idolen?

Our passion for music was born when we were kids, when we listened to the myths of Rock and Heavy Metal and dreamed of becoming like them. Our idols range from Dream Theater, PFM, Area, Cosmosquad, Soft Machine, Nomadi, Negrita.

Wat voor soort muziek maak je?

We mainly play melodic Rock influenced by Psychedelic sounds and Progressive experimentations. But our background varies a lot and we have also composed Pop/Rock songs.

Wat is voor jou het belangrijkste nummer? Welke boodschap wil je overbrengen aan de luisteraar?

There are 2 songs that are the band’s flagship: the single “giorni da dimenticare”, a poignant pop-rock ballad that narrates the events and difficulties that we all encounter in our daily lives and “Aedos” where we present what is actually our sound and our main style.

Waarom zou een luisteraar die jou niet kent naar je muziek luisteren?

Because we try to propose in our small way of experimentation, our art and our way of seeing things and life. Our ideas and our musical fantasies, which are a marriage of different influences and visions.

Wat zijn je toekomstige projecten? Waar zie je jezelf over 5 jaar?

I couldn’t tell you, we always try to challenge ourselves by having fun and experimenting with music based on our emotions. The fundamental thing for us is to have fun together, then we’ll see what comes in the future.

We have always had a lot of fun playing together, certainly the funniest episode was when one time while recording we didn’t realize we had the input volume at zero and after hours and hours of performing nothing was recorded.
