Vertel eens iets over jezelf, wie ben je en waar kom je vandaan?

My name is Zylla Ghad, and I’m a dancehall artist from Ghana. Music has always been my passion, and I’m dedicated to creating energetic and authentic tracks that resonate with my fans. With hits like ‘Street Play’ and ‘Sinna’, I’m excited to share my unique sound with the world and represent Ghanaian music on a global scale.

Hoe is je passie voor muziek ontstaan? Wie zijn je idolen?

My passion for music was born growing up in Ghana, surrounded by afro melodies and later got introduced to dancehall by my brother. I was heavily influenced by dancehall and African beats, which inspired me to create my own music. As for idols, I’d say Alkaline, Shatta Wale, Skeng, and others have been huge inspirations. Their energy, lyrical depth, and ability to connect with fans globally motivate me to push boundaries with my own sound. I’m humbled to share the same stage and genre with artists I admire!

Wat voor soort muziek maak je?

I create high-energy Dancehall and Trap Dancehall music, fusing Ghanaian vibes with international flavors. My sound is all about infectious rhythms, catchy hooks, and authentic lyrics that speak to the streets. I’m all about pushing the genre forward and taking Ghanaian music to the world!

Wat is voor jou het belangrijkste nummer? Welke boodschap wil je overbrengen aan de luisteraar?

For me, ‘Sinna’ holds a special place. It showcases my roots and the struggles of growing up in Ghana’s streets. Through my music, I want to convey messages of resilience, hope, and authenticity. I aim to inspire listeners to chase their dreams despite obstacles and stay true to themselves. My songs often reflect real-life experiences, aiming to connect with fans on a deeper level and uplift them through my art.

Waarom zou een luisteraar die jou niet kent naar je muziek luisteren?

Listeners should give my music a try because I bring a fresh, authentic voice to the dancehall scene. My songs are raw, energetic, and honest, reflecting my Ghanaian heritage and real-life experiences. Even if they don’t know me, they’ll connect with my passion, energy, and storytelling. I’m not just making music; I’m sharing a part of myself and my culture, and I believe that resonates universally.

Wat zijn je toekomstige projecten? Waar zie je jezelf over 5 jaar?

I’m working on new music that blends Ghanaian sounds with modern dancehall styles. One of my upcoming projects is releasing “Cash Code”, a pure dancehall track in May, 2025 that you can look out for! I’m also planning collaborations with other artists and exploring international opportunities. In 5 years, I see myself as a global artist, touring worldwide, and inspiring fans with my music. I want to take Ghanaian culture to the world stage and make a lasting impact on the music industry.

During the recording of my upcoming track ‘Cash Code’, I had a funny moment when I was doing ad-libs and accidentally roughened up my voice. We all burst out laughing, but then we realized it actually added a cool, gritty vibe to the track! So, we decided to keep it in the final mix. It was a happy accident, and I’m glad it turned out to be a great addition to the song!
