Tell us about yourself, who are you and where do you come from?

I’m Teun Snijders, a producer and artist from the Netherlands. I create music under the name Spyder T.

How was your passion for music born? Who are your idols?

My passion for music started when I was a teenager experimenting with making beats and sharing them online. What really inspired me was seeing people actually use and appreciate my work, that gave me the drive to keep creating. Over the years I’ve been influenced by artists like Travis Scott, Ye (Kanye West), and a mix of Dutch rappers who shaped my own style. They completely changed my perspective on music, nowadays I’m always thinking about the process behind songs instead of just listening to them.

What kind of music do you do?

I make rap music combined with international influences, and I like to experiment with different styles when creating a song or beat.

What is the most important song for you? What message do you want to convey to the listener?

The most important song for me is DOLLE PRET/DOOLHOF, because it represents how I experienced something as a kid. It’s an unreleased track, but also the first song I created for my upcoming album Dolle Pret. The message I want to give listeners is that music is more than just sound, it’s about emotion, memories, perspectives, and personal stories. I want people to feel something when they listen, whether it’s reflection or a memory of their own.

Why should a listener who doesn’t know you listen to your music?

I’d say give it a listen because it’s honest and different. I put real stories, experiences, and emotion into it, and I think people can feel that. Even if you don’t know me, there’s probably something in it you can relate to.

What are your future projects? Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

Right now I’m focused on finishing my upcoming album Dolle Pret, which is a personal experimental project. Beyond that, I want to continue collaborating with other artists, experimenting with styles, and reaching a wider audience. In five years, I see myself fully immersed in music, producing and releasing projects that connect with people internationally, while building a name for myself as both an artist and a producer.

Tell our readers a funny episode that happened in your career as an artist.

I once sent a few beats to an artist I found on SoundCloud, and they accidentally posted one as their own track. Even though it was pretty annoying first, the track ended up getting way more plays than any of my own releases. So he gave me credits instead of removing it, looking back on it, it’s actually pretty funny.
