Artist Bio: Lacie James
Born in Tennessee and raised between Tennessee and Georgia before moving west to Arizona, Lacie James grew up with both southern roots and desert horizons shaping her perspective. From an early age, she was surrounded by her Mawmaw’s southern cadence, gospel-tinged voices, and the storytelling traditions of country music. Those early influences shine through in her sound today — a blend of classic country heart and southern rock grit.
“I’ve always loved the storytelling in country, but I’m just as drawn to that raw, driving energy you get with southern rock,” she explains. “When I write, I let the song decide — sometimes it leans softer, sometimes it calls for cranking up the guitars.”
Her very first song, He Doesn’t Know, tackled heartbreak, a theme that has followed her writing since — though she balances it with songs of hope, resilience, and freedom.
Musically, she draws inspiration from legends like Dolly Parton for her storytelling and artists with powerful, genre-bending voices. Her sound carries both the tradition of her Tennessee roots and the wide-open influence of her Arizona home, where desert skies and mountain trails often spark new ideas.
