The interview is with the HipHop artist Absolute. He was born in Syracuse, New York, and currently lives in Pensacola, Florida. Absolute has been a HipHop artist for about 10 years and released his first official project in 2023. He makes mostly lyrical HipHop that focuses on clever bars and storytelling. Absolute’s music is a blend of strong music without sacrificing his own game. His most important songs are his more mellow tracks like « Don’t be Afraid » and « Falling down, » which detail his unique struggles. Absolute’s future projects include more EPs and collaborations with big names like Sean Kingston, Young Buck, and Lil Flip. One funny episode in his career is that people who know him, but don’t know his music, are discovering his music from Spotify algorithms and playlists.

Parle-nous de toi, qui es-tu et d'où viens-tu ?

I go by the name Absolute. I was born in Syracuse New York and currently live in Pensacola Florida. I’ve been a HipHop artist for about 10 years and released my first official project this year in 2023. I have 2 EPs out on all platforms. I’ve gotten to do features with some big artists like Future, Rick Ross and a few others. I’m in a pretty aggressive release mode right now just trying to make music for the people.

Comment est née ta passion pour la musique ? Qui sont tes idoles ?

It definitely started around when I was around 10. It just sort of found it’s way to me. I think the first full HipHop album I listened to was Get Rich or Die trying. Once I found that I started digging for more. I found Eminem, Tupac, Jay-Z, WuTang, Nas and dove down the rabbit hole. It’s been an addiction ever since. My biggest idols for me have probably been JR Writer, Em, Nas, Drake, Meek, guys who really found that blend between making strong music without sacrificing their own game.

Quel genre de musique fais-tu ?

It’s mostly lyrical HipHop. It’s a lot of clever bars and story telling over making hit songs or catchy tunes.

Quelle est la chanson la plus importante pour toi ? Quel message veux-tu transmettre à l'auditeur ?

The important songs are usually my more mellow tracks like “Don’t be Afraid” and “Falling down” They’re kind of my overcoming adversity tracks that go into detail about bouncing back from some pretty unique struggles.

Pourquoi un auditeur qui ne te connaît pas devrait-il écouter ta musique ?

Well, I try to make a lil something for everybody. There’s some songs about my life I hope people can connect with. I’ve got some songs that are just feel good songs for Drives in the summer or turning up in the club. Some for the soul, some for the people who like clever lyrics. But most importantly when you hear me tell stories in my music with specific names or events, just know they’re real stories. I don’t make this shit up.

Quels sont tes projets futurs ? Où te vois-tu dans 5 ans ?

I’ve got a lot more EPs coming. I like making the 8 tracks right now. It’s a good balance of not biting off too much. It’s easy listening, easy on the attention span. I really enjoy making music with others. I’m hoping to keep branching out. I’ve got some more big names coming this year, I’ve got music with Sean Kingston, Young Buck, Lil Flip, a lot of the old heads. I’m hoping to keep the music coming you know?

Raconte à nos lecteurs un épisode amusant qui s'est produit dans ta carrière d'artiste.

Right now what’s funny is people who know me, but don’t know my music are discovering it from Spotify algorithms and playlists. My wife’s friends text her like “Hey, your husbands music is all over my Release radar! I didn’t even know he rapped!”
