Where Independent Music Finds Its Voice

“If Trip-Hop existed in the late 60s/early 70’s, then it would sound a lot like this track. Funky and techno at the same time – it’s quirky and I dig it”

Parle-nous de toi, qui es-tu et d'où viens-tu ?

I’m a half Danish, half-Belgian, and now live in Antwerp.

Comment est née ta passion pour la musique ? Qui sont tes idoles ?

One of my earliest memories is from when I was about 4 or 5: 2 uncles who were touring with a jazzband visited our house, and at one point they sat down at our piano playing 4-handed jazz …. I loved the whole atmosphere and still feel the excitement of that moment. Today I have a broad interest, with my private playlist including a.o. the Stones, DEUS, Gasolin, Massive Attack, Faithless, Charlotte De Witte, Sammy Davis Jr. and Miles Davis.

Quel genre de musique fais-tu ?

Originally I have been playing guitar rock and pop, as well as more Jazzy things. During Corona, I discovered GarageBand. And I discovered it can be used not only to record, but also as a composing tool. So over the past 2 years I have been exploring the sounds and possibilities offered – which has lead to a number of tracks that I’m now dropping on Spotify. I don’t think of my music as a specific style. When I write on GarageBand I usually start from a beat and a bass-line, and then just see what happens. This far I’ve only released instrumentals on Spotify, but will add vocal led songs in future

Quelle est la chanson la plus importante pour toi ? Quel message veux-tu transmettre à l'auditeur ?

Avatar, my first GarageBand-based track is special to me: I wanted to record a guitar ballad on IPad, but playing around first with synth sounds and beats in GarageBand, the track Avatar just wrote itself in a few hours. A farther loves all his children, but I guess this is special, because I am happy with the result, but also because it opened the door for a whole new style of writing and music to me

Pourquoi un auditeur qui ne te connaît pas devrait-il écouter ta musique ?

A quote on one of my previous tracks by Shawn Carnes (BabaShareShow) says it best: “If Trip-Hop existed in the late 60s/early 70’s, then it would sound a lot like this track. Funky and techno at the same time – it’s quirky and I dig it”

Quels sont tes projets futurs ? Où te vois-tu dans 5 ans ?

My target is to perform live on a big stage with this

Raconte à nos lecteurs un épisode amusant qui s'est produit dans ta carrière d'artiste.

Not a story to brag about: one the first shows I did with a previous band was at a school bbq. At one point during the show a teacher stepped up to our singer and pointed at the microphone – we all guessed that he wanted to congratulate us. It turned out he just wanted to announce that the hotdogs were ready ….
