Tell us about yourself, who are you and where do you come from?

I’m a young independent artist from Johannesburg, South Africa. I grew up in a local neighborhood called Katlehong in the Ekurhuleni district. I’m a chilled guy that fell in love with music from a young age but I was very shy to express myself at the time, so when I got introduced to hip hop I felt it was a way I could perfectly express myself.

How was your passion for music born? Who are your idols?

My passion was born when me and a friend of mine were first listening to “2014 Forest Hills Drive” sitting together under the sun. Black Hippy, J Cole, Eminem, and a whole lot of other artists were very good at the time.

What kind of music do you do?

I do hip hop and a whole lot of other genres. My sound is very unique because I do not use the usual sounds used in beats and the samples I use are very specific and melodic.

What is the most important song for you? What message do you want to convey to the listener?

Honestly, my whole project titled “Mural,” which is out now, because it basically tells you the struggles I face since I am not someone who shares a lot.

Why should a listener who doesn’t know you listen to your music?

Listeners should consider listening to my music because it offers a unique sound or style that stands out, connects emotionally through compelling lyrics or melodies, showcases technical skill or innovation, tells meaningful stories, reflects authenticity, and has received positive reception or offers an engaging live experience. These qualities can resonate with listeners and make my music worth exploring.

What are your future projects? Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

I would very much like to work with The Alchemist, Larry June, Mick Jenkins, Venna, Smino, Monte Booker, Jay Z, Earl Sweatshirt, and a whole lot more.

Tell our readers a funny episode that happened in your career as an artist.

There was once a time where I was so stoned that I couldn’t even press play on the computer to play the beat.
