Tell us about yourself, who are you and where do you come from?

My name is Marco. I am from Germany. I am part of the Gothic-Scene and I love and make electronic music.

How was your passion for music born? Who are your idols?

I always loved music. I the 80s it was NDW and Synthpop. In the 90s it was Techno. In the early 2000s I discovered the german Gothic-Scene, EBM, Dark Electro and Darkwave music. I felt in love instantly with bands like Hocico. Agonoize, In Strict Confidence and Solitary Experiments.

What kind of music do you do?

Its mainly Dark Electro with Techno and Industrial influences. But I also make Synthpop and Futurepop. It depends on my mood and the circumstances. As long as it is electronic, anything goes. I love the combination of cold electronics and deep emotions. I think that represents our society very well as it is today.

What is the most important song for you? What message do you want to convey to the listener?

My most important song is called “Psychosis”. It is a song about my own mental issues. Depression and paranoid schizophrenia. It’s a story about what I felt back then, when my psychosis was very bad. As unpopular as the topic is, I wanted to do this as a personal therapy. I wanted other people with mental helth issues to know, they are not alone, I know what they are going through.

Why should a listener who doesnā€™t know you listen to your music?

My music is for all the people who are tired of playing happy every day for no reason. For all who are fed up to pretend everything is OK just to be accepted in our society. I love topics like depression, hate, anger, jealousy, desperation and sadness. They are part of this life, they are defin what we are.

What are your future projects? Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

My next release, called “Your Life” will be released August 30th. My next project is a collaboration with Lvcien.the.vampire. He did some awesome lyrics and vocals for one of my older instrumental tracks. This will be announced officially and released later this year. But apart from that, I am not the kind of person who makes plans. I am not a religious but the is a really good quote about planning: Everytime when someone makes a plan, god starts laughing.

Tell our readers a funny episode that happened in your career as an artist.

I don’t know if its funny. It was in the very beginning of my musical journey. I just finished a song. My girlfriend, at that time, did the lyrics and vocals. A good friend and local DJ had no idea about that. One day he visits us. Without telling him, I played the song. He said he is not in the mood for Blutengel. I replied: “No Blutengel, this is us”. He was blown away. He wanted me to burn it on a CD. He played the song in his club in front of a small audience some days later.
