NEW COLLABORATION: JUSSI LEHTISALO (CIRCLE)
& ANLA COURTIS (REYNOLS)
Ektro Records announced the release of a new album made by JUSSI LEHTISALO (founding member of the Finnish band CIRCLE) and ANLA COURTIS (member of the unclassifiable Argentine group REYNOLS). This is, then, an unprecedented collaboration between independent experimental music leaders from very different latitudes.
Released on orange vinyl and in digital format, the LP is titled “1972” and was recorded in Pori (Finland), Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Washington DC (USA). On the album, Lehtisalo and Courtis employs: guitars, laptseel, organ, synthesizers, pianos, zither, tapes, field recordings and voices. The production has eight songs: “Mustikkandano 01.10.1972” , “Limtruuna 03.02.1972”, “Papuuro 30.04.1972”, “Retiisabano 04.04.1972”, “Cebopula 09.07.1972”, “Sokerúcar 21.09.1972”, “Omenzana 07.10.1972” and “Naroranssiranja 31.12.1972”.
In his review, Juho Toivonen described the collaboration as follows: “Courtis and Lehtisalo reassemble fragments of past and future into something fluid, organic, and timeless. Their music moves beyond linear time, dissolving the boundaries between structure and chaos, improvisation and composition, the ancient and the unknown”.
ANLA COURTIS ja LEHTISALO “1972” is now available for pre-sale. The album has distribution worldwide and can now be heard on Bandcamp and other online platforms.
