Interview with DCI Dashcam

Tell us about yourself, who are you and where do you come from?

I am DCi Dashcam (André) and a German music and YouTube content creator who deals with the topic of road traffic and realizes and lives this out in my music. In my songs I mix different genres like rap, hip hop, pop , electronic, dance and incorporate them in his distinctive way in my songs that are about the roads and traffic violations. With my tracks I do exactly what we think and feel when watching dashcam clips. We get upset about the sometimes inconsiderate behavior of bad car drivers and some idiots on the road, and would some change his driving behavior, many an accident could be avoided. This is my message that I would like to bring across with my songs.

How was your passion for music born? Who are your idols?

Music is also an expression of feelings that you feel every moment, so I would say that music always accompanies us. Whether sad, tense or full of euphoria, it can even strengthen feelings in you and motivate you. I have some great artists that inspire me. From The Weekend to Rap God Eminem and I’m also a big fan of Latin Reggae.

What kind of music do you do?

I started with German rap, but I’m very open to new things, like my new song which is completely in English. For me it does not matter how I transport my message. If this arrives the “job” is done :)

What is the most important song for you? What message do you want to convey to the listener?

Do you mean my songs ? Then I would say that it is important to be more considerate of each other all something chill.

Why should a listener who doesn’t know you listen to your music?

The question is good :) :) Maybe because I really think about my lyrics without using hidden keywords to say something else. So honest music based on facts and not following any hype or trends to please. You also tell a little story in your music, that’s what many think and feel in music. You go into the song and think that would be me. What would you feel if it was me? Music is also a bit of dream world.

What are your future projects? Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

Release Top Speed - You Can´t Stop Me Now - DCI Dashcam I would like to spread my cause, with new songs that I could write down every day, especially in dashcam videos when I watch them I always have ideas how I can implement them thematically. There are real life stories in a few seconds clips, there you think oh man what the F..ck. This is of course always a good inspiration for me. I think that in 5 years I still bring out some songs creatively, and maybe I get my first album. I’m having fun, as long as that’s the case, I’ll keep doing it.

Tell our readers a funny episode that happened in your career as an artist.

I have before I made music only dashcam videos pixelated and deposited with memes and sounds, when I told my good friend that I now make music about dashcam videos he had to drink a beer… but the situation was funny for both of us so you always remains in my memory. So actually the birth of my songs.
