Where Independent Music Finds Its Voice

Interview with EASTERN WIZARD

Tell us about yourself, who are you and where do you come from?

DJ for various occasions till the age of 25, I always loved electro music till my life changed and turned to be more demanding, leading me to stop mixing . However, I stayed attentive to the world of electronic music, and more specifically to the « lounge » and « deep house » style played at the Buddha Bar, which remains for me a source of inspiration. Allowing me to be in direct contact with thousand of people, the 2018 and 2019 technoparades gave me the opportunity and motivation to go back to the turntables, while trigerring my return into the electro-music world. I was then able to mix sounds accumulated for years, turning the whole thing into an incredible experience. I now produce my own pieces of Deep House, Tech House, and Lounge, using tones reminiscent of the Middle and Far East, Eastern Europe and India. I am just at the beginning of a new and fascinating adventure. Thank you for listening, repost…likes…

How was your passion for music born? Who are your idols?

Well music is part of my life, I can’t stay without music, from the Beattles and Rolling Stones, Public Enemy to Metallica and Mozart…and of course Deep House, and Ethno Deep house. I have a good musical ear, which has been used to listening to all the sounds of the world that my dad brought back from his travels..

What kind of music do you do?

Well my style is really like the Buddha Bar productions, Ethno Deep House, but I like some times going into Tech House or EDM Dance Music…

What is the most important song for you? What message do you want to convey to the listener?

Since Now 3 years I compose pieces of music, I love them all…but I must say that Mumbai is the one that allowed me to arrive on a compilation of the Buddha Bar… I owe it a lot to him and also to Ravin the resident DJ…

Why should a listener who doesn’t know you listen to your music?

The Pieces of music are quite varied, and normally pleasant to listen…I am very attached to the quality of the sounds…we can sincerely have a good time with my music

What are your future projects? Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

I will continue more and more to produce…I have a few tracks that will be released with labels, and I hope again with Buddha Bar…I Will mix at the Techno Parade in Paris in September, and maybe at the love parade next year in Berlin…

Tell our readers a funny episode that happened in your career as an artist.

An anecdote, not funny but it that can happen… I was mixing in front of thousands of people, on a truc at the technoparade in Paris, there were so many people on the truck, it was unmanageable, and a person put his foot on the switch for the energy… without making it on purpose … I was a little stressed out when my Mac and the power amps stopped…
