Interview with Gage Baggs

Tell us about yourself, who are you and where do you come from?

I am a DJ/producer from traverse City Michigan. I like horror movies and true crime. I recently actually got into Edm music. My last 3 albums where all different genres. My favorite movie is Donnie darko. I have more remixes on my SoundCloud. My idols in the edm scene are SVDDEN DEATH, Kai wachi, peekaboo and griz.

How was your passion for music born? Who are your idols?

Oh I guess I jumped the gun on that question lol. I started playing drums when I was 9 started playing in bands when I was 12 and playing shows at festivals at 14. I was always a metal kid and I grew up on Marilyn Manson, korn, and my chemical romance, then the first two CDs I bought myself where the killers hot fuss, and the Gorillaz demon days. My edm idols are on the last question, but other idols include Marilyn Manson, Kurt Cobain, Johnny Stevens, and Jesse Rutherford.

What kind of music do you do?

I do all kinds. But released synthwave, atmospheric, house, and dubstep

What is the most important song for you? What message do you want to convey to the listener?

I think the one I cling to the most is “cøld”. When I wrote it, it felt like this release of all of this awful energy I had in my heart. And with all my music I just want someone to be able to paint a picture with the song/ feel something, weather positive or negative.

Why should a listener who doesn’t know you listen to your music?

I make music of all different genres to connect with as many people as possible. I want to have something for everyone.

What are your future projects? Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

I’m not sure where I see myself. I hope to be making music and traveling still just on a larger scale. And for now I’m just going to be working on my solo project, but moving forward more geared towards edm.

Tell our readers a funny episode that happened in your career as an artist.

I recently played a RENEGADE set (when you just set up your dj equipment in the woods or something and play) at summer camp music festival 2022, and I played for about 2 hrs before this guy came out mad that we where playing music, at a music festival, at only 2:30 am. And I was kinda not in the right mindset if ya feel me so I was just kinda giggling and tore it down but the people walking by and watching where pissed at the dude and kept yelling at his campsite and bothering him.
