“When people see my work, I hope they experience The passion and intensity behind every word and beat of the song.”

Interview with Nathvn

Tell us about yourself, who are you and where do you come from?

My name is Nathan Mohamed, I’m from a small town situated in the Northern Cape, South Africa and go by the artist name “Nathvn”. I grew up in a very religious and classically trained household, with my father being a pastor.

How was your passion for music born? Who are your idols?

I was privileged to grow up musically inclined due to my entire family branch being musicians. I started playing the recorder from a very young age and later progressed to Violin. A few years later here I am singing, playing various instruments including cello, clarinet, organ and piano. I create music because It’s the most expressive form of communication.

What kind of music do you do?

The genre I consider myself to thrive in is Indie-Pop(Singer-songwriter) but I dive into Hip-hop ever so often.

What is the most important song for you? What message do you want to convey to the listener?

All You Need released January 6th, 2023. This specific song is almost 2 years in the making. It tells a tale many can relate to. Everyone despite the facade they put up has struggles and face their own sort of demons whether is being drugs, alcohol and depression etc. We often ten to struggle to find the light at the end of the tunnel. The best piece of advice I could give is to take the leap and strive forward. In doing so you unlock your mind and true potential and essentially find your purpose.

Why should a listener who doesnโ€™t know you listen to your music?

When people see my work, I hope they experience The passion and intensity behind every word and beat of the song.

What are your future projects? Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

For the year of 2023 I have massive plans and plan to release a bunch of great quality songs. 5 years from now I see myself headlining big shows across the country.
