Tell us about yourself, who are you and where do you come from?

My name is Marcel Trafoier, I’m based near Hanover (Germany) and I produce electronic music in the genre of Tropical House & Deep House under my stage name “Trafoier”.

How was your passion for music born? Who are your idols?

I started playing drums when I was 3 years old. I come from a family of musicians and as a child I often performed as a guest musician in my father’s rock band. As a teenager I started my own pop punk band and toured through Germany. When the band broke up when I was 18 years old, I wanted to make music on my own without being dependent on others. I discovered electronic music and got into producing.

What kind of music do you do?

I release danceable Deep House, which should spread summer vibes. I would describe my signature „Pluck“ sound as a special sound. Other articles wrote, that I was “one of Germany’s most profilic Pluck House producers”. I developed my sound, which can be heard in almost all of my tracks. It has a great recognition value.

What is the most important song for you? What message do you want to convey to the listener?

“Love Bites” was my first big international collaboration. The song was created in cooperation with songwriter Ben McConnachie (UK) and artist Selin, who is very successful in Turkey. It was released with Sony Denmark’s disco:wax and entered 10 Spotify Editorial playlists (5 of them were New Music Friday).

Why should a listener who doesn’t know you listen to your music?

With my songs I want to deliver the perfect soundtrack for every mood. Based on the dreamy but at the same time danceable sound, my songs serve both as a comfort for reflection, as well as a good mood for partying.

What are your future projects? Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

My goal is to be able to release more on major labels and to further collaborate with international acts in the music industry.
