In an exclusive interview with WhatsMusic.de, Jesse Morris, known professionally as Kritikull ThnKng, opens up about his music journey. Raised in Carrollton, Ga, he found his passion for music at a young age, influenced by hip-hop icons like Tupac, Biggie, and Lil Wayne. Although he drifted away from music, he returned to it at 26 and has since been a versatile force in the industry, embracing a blend of hip-hop, trap, rap, rock, and even some country influences.

Kritikull ThnKng’s most heart-wrenching song, “Angels in My Dreams,” was penned following the tragic loss of his 15-month-old son in March 2023. He urges listeners to cherish every moment with their loved ones. With an ability to create music that people can deeply relate to, he sees this as his life’s calling, besides his remaining children.

He recently dropped a 19-song album titled “Underrated and Secretly Hated” and has plans for more singles and a hopeful full-time music career in the next five years. From funny tour incidents to deeply personal life events, Kritikull ThnKng proves that his music is not just about beats and lyrics but also about storytelling and emotional catharsis.

Tell us about yourself, who are you and where do you come from?

Jesse morris, who goes by the stage name of Kritikull ThnKng, is a hip hop artist who comes from the streets of Carrollton, Ga.

How was your passion for music born? Who are your idols?

His passion for music was born as a child. He grew up on Tupac and biggie, as well as ludacris and lil Wayne. He could rap most songs word for word at an early age, but it wasn’t until his late teens that he actually started writing his own music. Still, at that point he wasn’t taking it seriously and wasn’t recording anything. Life happened, and he found his way back to music at about 26 years old. He says his main influence/ idol is Lil Wayne, who was the one who got him into deciphering lyrics and wordplay and what it all meant. He takes influence from a great variety of artist though, as you can tell in his music.

What kind of music do you do?

Kritikull ThnKng is a very versatile artist who mainly sticks to hip hop/ trap/ rap, but is also capable of stepping outside the box and tapping into more of a rock sound, and even taps into his country roots sometimes as well.

What is the most important song for you? What message do you want to convey to the listener?

The most important song to me is my song “ Angels in My Dreams”. I wrote this song after I lost my 15 month old son in March of 2023. And I just want the listeners to know that they should love on their children as often as they possibly can because they never know when the last chance they have might be.

Why should a listener who doesn’t know you listen to your music?

Kritikull ThnKng makes music that people can relate to. He says that music and his children are the only reason he’s alive today, and if his music could help keep someone else alive, then that would be an accomplishment for him.

What are your future projects? Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

Kritikull ThnKng just released a 19 song album titled “Underrated and Secretly Hated” that dropped everywhere September 2nd, 2023. He’s already working on multiple other singles that will be dropping in the nearby future. He says 5 years from now, he would love to be making music full time and touring, and also be able to provide for himself and his kids off of his music.
